Hi! I have 2600 contacts on my HTC HD2 and loads of duplicates. I have removed a lot of them via the MS MyPhone program but there are a lot that are not synced to MyPhone.

The problem i have thoough is that a lot of important info i have in my contacts is in the NOTES section. My question therefore is "Does TrineFix check the NOTES section of contacts for similar data?"

i really cannot risk loosing my NOTES info in my contacts.

Yes, both TrineFix and Trine's DuplicateFix checks notesfield.

But since you in TrineFix can select different "types of compare", you will have to chose "All" and not "Name" or "Contactinfo" to make sure it also compares the notes field. TrineFix lets you preview the results...but if you have 2600 contacts...and they are actually 1300 that have been duplicated...well then that preview will be a pain to go through!
Not sure if TrineFix will handle that many contacts...long time since I coded that app, so I do not remember how many contacts I tested it with, nothing bad will happen if it crashes...it just wont be able to fix your problem if so. If you have issues with it running out of memmory, goto "Preferences/Contact picture caching", and turn OFF "Picture caching", that will save a lot of memmory.

And I apologize for the slow webpages...we have started the job with moving to a different vendor due to this, so in a week or two the site should be much faster.

In short:
if you run Trine's DuplicateFix (or TrineFix with "All"), it will not see two contacts as identical if there is some difference in the notesfield, even if all other fields are identical.

And therefore keep both "copies"...since the program views them as "not a duplicate, since something differs".
